Colonel Ajay Ahlawat started playing Polo as an army-man in the year 1989. He represented Indian National Army and the Indian National Polo Team (1991-2012) in over 40 countries –
such as Brunei, Malaysia, United Kingdom, the United States of America and Germany.
The Art Connoisseur
Col. Ajay’s interest in art was aroused by none other than the famous Indian painter, M.F. Husain himself. He was serving at the 61st Cavalry when the famous artist came there to paint the
horses (1992-1995). Besides the Col. has collected a plethora
of artworks over the years by famous painters such as Tagore, Husain, and Jamini Roy.

Colonel’s Legacy
D‘Dato’ was born as Ajay in Gochhi,
Haryana. Following the footsteps of
his ancestors he devoted his life to the
nation as the Second Lieutenant in
India’s oldest and perhaps the finest
cavalry, The Rissala or the 61st
Regiment.
With sheer loyalty, he served the army
for over 24 years before seeking
premature retirement at the age of 41
as “Col. ‘Dato’ Ahlawat”.
